Cindy Siple, a member of The Players Theatre Company for over 20 years, is named Managing Director and joins the staff to lead The Players forward into a creative and dynamic future as part of the area’s Arts community.She brings strong credentials having served on the Board of Directors for three terms including as Board President, Secretary, Membership Chair, and various other positions. She’s been awarded three Players Awards/Monties for her work on stage and has worked backstage as stage manager and assistant director. Cindy began her performance career with the Pittsburgh Ballet & Civic Light Opera and worked professionally with regional theatres and touring companies across the US, including Flat Rock Playhouse, Asolo State Theatre, GEM Productions, Patchwork Players, and Southeastern Theatrical Productions. She has worked administratively for professional theatre companies as Company
Manager, Business Manager, Tour Manager, Children’s Theatre Director, Assistant to the Executive Director, Assistant to the Development Director, and Assistant Apprentice Director. Cindy holds a B.A. from Penn State, an M.A. from Univ. of Pittsburgh and was Artist-in-Residence for the S.C. Department of Education and Columbia College. She worked as an International Flight Attendant for Continental Airlines where she was a part of the Civil Air Command for Operation Desert Storm. She taught 4-year-olds through college seniors for the past 22 years, most recently as a music/choir teacher and has been awarded Region 6 Teacher of the Year, Montgomery ISD Teacher of the Year, Montgomery Elementary Teacher of the Year, TXPTA Outstanding Texas Educator, HEB Excellence in Education State Finalist, B.B. Rice Elementary Teacher of the Year, Taco Cabana Teacher of the Year, and Conroe ISD Educator Achieving Excellence. Personally, Cindy was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She lives on the Flying S Ranch in Conroe with her husband, Roger, a Captain on the 777 for United Airlines. Together they’ve launched 3 successful children who have all been on stage with The Players.
